FAQs

What are your rates?

My rate is $125/hour with a 2-hour minimum. I’ll need at least 15 minutes on each end for setup and teardown—unless you’re providing an acoustic piano (which must meet quality standards: all keys working, in tune, etc.).

How long does setup/teardown take?

Depending on the venue and equipment needs, plan for 15–30 minutes on each end, with 45 minutes to an hour sometimes necessary for larger setups. Setup and teardown time is included in the booking. If there’s any amplification, I recommend a sound check.

What equipment do you provide?

I offer Piano Only or Piano & Vocals performances. Equipment needs depend on your venue:

Do you require a deposit?

Yes, I require a 50% deposit to secure your date. The remaining balance is due the day of the event.

What’s your cancellation policy?

  • 14+ days notice: Full deposit refund
  • 7–13 days notice: 50% deposit refund
  • Less than 7 days: Deposit is non-refundable

If I need to cancel due to emergency, you’ll receive a full refund.

How far in advance should I book?

I recommend booking at least 2–4 weeks in advance, especially for weekends. For weddings or large events, 2–3 months is ideal.

Do you take song requests?

Absolutely! I’m happy to learn 1–2 special songs for your event at no extra charge (with enough notice). For larger custom setlists, let’s discuss.

Notes:

  • Piano Only can be fully acoustic for intimate spaces—no PA needed
  • Piano & Vocals almost always requires at least a microphone for my style of singing, so you’ll need house sound or the Full Production option
  • For house sound setups, I’ll provide a tech rider with my requirements

Do you charge for travel?

  • Within Juneau: No travel fee
  • Out of town: Travel, lodging, and transportation costs apply—let’s discuss specifics!

What types of events do you play?

I play a variety of events including:

  • Private parties & dinners
  • Weddings & receptions
  • Corporate events
  • Restaurants & bars
  • Community events & fundraisers

What do you need from the venue?

  • A stable, flat surface for my “stage space” 6’ x 4’ is about as small as I can fit.
  • Access to a power outlet
  • A reasonably climate-controlled space (for the instrument & equipment’s sake!)
  • If outdoors: covered area in case of weather
